If you do have any queries that aren't covered here, please contact us

How do I register?
Registration is made by clicking here. You will be asked to provide an estimate of your expected finish time. This is only required to ensure the appropriate start corral.

Can I offer my place to someone else?
If for some reason you are unable to take part, you can transfer your place (using the official website) up to a week before the day of the event. Please contact race organisers and we will guide you through the process. Entries transferred without the knowledge of the organisers will be deemed null and void and the finish time removed from the final results. Both parties could, in addition, be banned from future Kingston upon Hull AC events.

Is the race chip-timed?
Yes. Official race timing providers are Sports Timing Solutions.

Where do I pick up my race number?
You will collect your race number on the day from Haltemprice Sports Centre and all you need to bring is your surname. There will be several registration points (A – D, E – K etc) so look out for the right one. They will be busy so there will be a separate enquiry desk: please take your questions there so that the registration staff are not interrupted as they give out numbers.

Once you have picked up your race number please find your way over to the start on Southella Way.

What's in my race pack?
In your race pack you will find your race number and a disposable timing chip. The race number should be affixed to your front and be visible at all times whilst you are running. We will have a small supply of safety pins available on the registration desk but, please, do try and bring your own. The timing chip (paper/silver band) should be looped through the laces on one of your trainers with the silver chip part uppermost and not squashed/crushed etc. We will have some helpers around registration to assist you if you’re not sure what to do with the chip.

Where do I park?
Marshals will be in place to direct you into the Haltemprice Sports Centre.  Please do not park on the roads leading up to the venue. If possible, try to car share to reduce the impact on the environment and the local community.

Are there plenty of toilets?
There will be ample toilet provision in the Haltemprice Sports Center. As every event organiser says, it is imperative that these facilities are used and no outdoor alternatives are sought. We want to make this race an annual event so please don’t upset the locals.

What happens at the start?
Following a briefing by the race director the race will start at 09.00. Ensure you are on the start line by 08.45.  Please try and position yourself in the start area according to your expected finish time with the fastest runners at the front.

Is the course all on roads?
You will be running on roads for the whole duration of the race. There will be marker signs at each km plus route arrows and marshals to assist you stay on course. Please act responsibly to ensure the safety of yourself and other runners and road-users. Even on closed roads, it is possible for vehicles to ignore signs and marshals so stay aware.

Is there a time limit?
Yes. 90 minutes. Bike markers at the back will be keeping this pace so please ensure you stay within the time limit.

Can I wear my headphones?
Haltemprice 10k is run under UK Athletics (UKA) rules and therefore the use of headphones of any sort, and MP3 or other similar devices, is prohibited throughout the race. Use will lead to disqualification.

Who will be controlling the race?
The marshals on the day will all be volunteers, mainly from KUHAC Road Runners, and are there to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race. Please obey any instructions they give you and treat them courteously. If you see a fellow competitor in difficulty, please report this to the next marshal you see. If you can give a race number of the affected runner this would be very helpful.

Can I help to marshal the race ?

Yes of course. This event needs plenty of marshals due to the high number of streets that need to be closed off. If you are available please contact [email protected]

Will there be first aid provision?
A full team of first aiders will be available and, should you have any problems that need medical attention, please alert the nearest marshal and they will call for help. If you need attention after finishing, please report to the first aid point near the Pavilion where help will be available.

Will there be a water station?
Water will be provided just after the half way point near Swanland School. There will also be supplies at the finish of the race.
